bare LEDs: best Lumens per Dollar

Hmm. Which LEDs currently have the best PRICE performance these days?
Have the 1W luxeons (and clones) come down in price enough to make them compete with 5mm and the brighter high power LEDs? Or do the cheap eBay
5mm LEDs end up winning?

Just a guess but with the price some people have been selling top quality bin Luxeon III's, they would have to be a winner. I bought some TXOH a month or so back for about $5 each.

The Seoul Semiconductor U-Bin from DX are probably pretty close to the top. I believe those produce nominally 240 lumens at 1A, and are $7.20 shipped. Good deal both in terms of lumens per dollar and lumens per watt: 33 lumens/dollar and 60-100 lm/W (at 1A, <350mA respectively)
