Check out my 2X3W luxeon flashlight!

Check out my flashlight. It's all aluminum, takes 3 D cells and has 2 3W luxeon LED's. The batteries last forever and its really bright haha.

The only thing is...i cant take it apart

What have you done in relation to heatsinking?

I got mine at www.cabelas.com it's the 6W Extreme edition I think. It's very well made and strong and bright, but not something you carry around with you everywhere.

I didnt do anything for heatsinking

Have you turned it on continously? and does it get hot?

It doesn't get hot. I had owned that light for awhile until it dropped from 4 feet onto ballast. It broke the reflector loose as it's just glued into the head. After that it wouldn't center itself and made the output useless as the light wasn't being collected by the reflector.

It has a metal heatsink but I don't remember how thick or anything like that. Would be a great light to throw a couple of Seoul or Cree's into if you also regulate the light.

Has anyone tried the 3x3W sold by Amondotech? It looks like it might be a Nuwai - on clearance for ~$75 last I checked.

I had one once, got it from Cabelas, cabelas.com. Led experimenter has Nuwai TM-800x3 for sale which have 3 luxeons luxIII and 3 levels of output and I found that to be a superior light to the other so I got a couple of them. I am converting one to SCC P4s with a driver, variable out put.
