Hi everyone
im sorry for this almost completely useless thread, but,i know there are a fair amount of people living in singapore, and i HAVE noticed that the police/civil defense uses some form smallish looking light, from what ive seen, it looks like thier all issued the same one, and it looks like a surefire G2, has anyone else noticed? or is anyone able to confirm this.

Their lights so damn dim, dont know what are they shining at, definitely not a match for flashaholics here:devil:. I know Pelican supply to CD.

it could be a G2 knock-off. i have issues with "standard issue" items. i would gladly get my own light if i am in the PD/FD.

there are more tiny & brighter lights of available now than ever. steep price may not even deter you from getting your first 1! :D

i cant say ive actually seen a police officer of CD person using thier light.....so cant really say what the output is.

Wierdly enough though, surefire is supposed to standard issues in some armies and stuff rite? so standard issue cant be THAT bad sORe-EyEz :p

PS: id probably use my own lights too if i were in the police force or civil defense :D
thats also why im going to modify the green army angled torchlight before i go for NS...heck, im going to modify some regardless..

hi there, i'm frm S'pore as well.

1 thing is for sure, army most likely won't issue any powerful flashlight we've come to know n love. tactical... yea, get the idea?
the L-torch issue (many yrs ago), we have to tape it up till there's only a 5mm hole for the light to come out.

i know some frens in the coast guard, they use surefire n pelican lights. but they way they use n handle, end up the bulb keep breaking. :)

jus my 2cent worth.

L-torch? i use a headlamp in place of it (during annual ICT anyway). it has multi-angle advantage & i am using a water resistant, lighter & smaller model at that.

L-torch be damned! :twak:

Hi Fellow Singaporean CPF'ers. :welcome: I have not seen the lights used by the police and most of the time it's bright enough with all the street lights that we have here. The only time I've seen police using flashlights are when they are conducting road blocks which are cheapo incan which they use to shine in you face and check your car. I'm glad that's not too bright anyway, if not we got to rest for a few more seconds to get back the night driving vision after every road block or put on sunglasses at night whenever we see a road block  Btw what do all the LEO's here from other countries use when you need to check the driver and the interior of a car ?

Hi,

I stumbled upon some flashlight bargains herein Singapore.

You can get Nuwai X1 and X3 ( TM-320XCE3) Flashlight at Mustafa Centre under generic branding ( Power + ).

X1 costs singapore dollars 25 ( USD about 16.70)
X3 costs singapore dollars 29 ( USD about 19.30)----very cheap!!!

I've modded a X3 with SSC P4 Ubin emitter, very very bright light.

was at Mustafa today and I saw the X3 but didn't buy it. if I read this earlier maybe I would have!

How and where did you get the SSC emitter and mod the X3?

hi RichSu,

i have the Power(+) X1.

it is:-
. regulated
. threads not smooth, occasionally cross thread (minus)
. got lanyard & pouch (plus)
. good throw
. value for $$ if 1 can overlook d imperfect machining (threads)

the MTE C2 IMO a better made light w/o accesseries. prices don't differ much. i have both.

MTE C2:-
. also uses 1AA batt
. unregulated w/ extended runtime w/ dimishing output
. dimmer than Power(+)
. no freebies

since they don't cost much might as well got both to judge them yourself! :bumpit:

Hi soRe-EyEz,

the Power (+) X1 or other Nuwai flashlights threads are probably not smooth because the threads are fully anodised ( which is tough for the threads). You will have to apply some silicone grease to smooth out the threads ( do not why manufacturer omit this detail ).

SSC P4 U-binn Emitter... you will have to order it from Dealextreme.com or Kaidomain.com.

By the way specs for X3, you can look here ....

hi Richdsu,

thanks for those links, the Power(+) light i own is the X1 look-alike down to the details. yeah you r right about greasing those threads. i had to regrease the thread about 3 times till it turns smoothly. but i prefer a non regulated light so it does not go :poof:! :green:

the government people are using surefire 6P, also on the MP5 ..... fyi

not a standard issue but can be 'drawn' out .....

then different departments got their regular lights for their purposes, various lights used from maglites to big heavy 100w 12v searchlights.....

I have some new CREE lights Ultrafire C3 using 1AA battery for sale at S$28. Who wants some? I left with 2 pcs, they are new ones.

No need to mod, its very bright already. Aluminium orange peel reflector and regulated circuit. Type 2 anodizing finishing. Smooth thread. PM me to view.
