Howdy y'all,

I'm relatively new to all of this, so please bear with me!

Anyway, what can I do as far as retrofitting a CREE to my Surefire G3 LED? I'd prefer to use OEM parts, however, I know that may or may not be feasible.

Thanks!

Why? Your G3 LED uses an SSC emitter that boasts similar performance specs and works better with the reflector.

I have an X300 which puts out 110 lumens off of two 123's for 2.4 hours. The G3 LED puts out 80 lumens off of three 123's for 5.8 or so. Now, if I'm not mistaken, the X300 is CREE powered.

I would like to upgrade the light out-put of my G3. I'm assuming the CREE is a good way to go.

One other thing I noticed is that the G3's reflector has orange peel texturing, while the X300 does not. Maybe a smooth reflector would help the G3. Honestly, though, I'm pretty new to all this, so I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks!

Check this thread for compatible drop-ins(At least 9v max if with primaries and 12.6v or over with rechargeable).

The Stock Surefire LED is more runtime oriented so it will run at a reasonable output for a longer time.
