My beloved Gotham is poorly. Any advice?

My favourite flashlight, Gotham #79, is ailing. It no longer clicks or soft clicks reliably between levels, but it will hold a level without flickering.

I can usually switch between levels if I soft click one one side of the switch, if you see what I mean, but it's not guaranteed.

I tried cleaning the threads at the switch end with no effect. I'm thinking that perhaps the switch will need replacing.

Does anyone have any advice (or commiserations :D) to offer?

Thanks in advance

I believe it takes the McClicky.

If so, I have one I will replace for free if you send it to me.:twothumbs

PM me if interested....No worries, I am a trusted member

The Gotham tailswitch does take the McClicky, and uses a retaining clip plus brass(?) spacer to center it. Removing the retaining ring gives access.

DaFabricata, that's a really nice gesture! If you're in good position to help with the switch it's much appreciated. I can also do the work, no problem either way.

No problem Milky!:grin2:
I know you have a lot of work and figured if I could help with something small I will.
Not to mention, being able to check out one of these works of art!!

My offer stands, but if Sgt. Pinback wants to have you do it I understand.

PM me if interested..
