+ve wire thru the heat sink to the battery +ve spring on rear of heat sink.

but how to best insulate the +ve spring from the heat sink?

im thinking a fiber washer..... or what do you guys use?

id prefer not to reverse the polarity of the light. (unless that what everyone does)

any advice appreciated:popcorn:

Hrm, b/c you want something to survive metal / metal contact. Electrical tape?
I do suggest you bend the end up so it wraps over the last coil and insures the cut end cannot chaff against your insulator.

Do you have any boards not in use? From a blown clicky switch or an old driver, you may be able to salvage a contact pad - provided you desolder where appropriate you can get an insulated surface that won't degrade over time and will provide a firm attachement point for your spring
