Hello everyone, I just ordered this p7 unit for my SF- M4
Ive read and am very gratefull to the members who wrote
the well detailed reviews, however I am still not sure of how to power
this unit effectively... 2 x 17670s or 3 x 17500s? got to know soon
so I can order. Thanks to all

It doesn't matter what you power it with. As long as the total voltage is 13 volts or below, it will work fine.

2 x 17670s or 3 x 17500s will work fine. I really like mine a lot. You will like your as well. Have fun!:)

If your TH behaves like the one described starting in post #90 in this thread, I'd go with 3x17500. Assuming that the claimed capacities of 17670 vs 17500 actually apply (e.g., 1600mAh vs 1100mAh for AW cells), you'll get longer run time with 3x17500 vs 2x17670. A word of caution, however. The power in vs voltage in curve for the Seraph P7 TH described in Post #90 is very poor IMO. Maybe it is not representative. If it isn't, then any run time difference may not appear in your sample.

If the Seraph driver behaved as expected for a buck driver, then the ratio of tail current draw for 2x17670 vs 3x17500 should be about 3:2, while the ratio of cell capacity is 2.9:2. These almost exact cancel each other, so the result is that the lower tail current using 3x17500 is offset by the lower cell capacity of the 17500s. Technically, the 17500s have a very slight edge in calculated run time, but the difference is so slight as to be most likely not significant.

Well I got the unit and its a blaster,stunner..the neighbors came out..lol
I tried both battery set ups but couldnt tell the difference bright wise nor
runtimes yet. I lucked out with this unit as its got a nice clean white tint
slightly warm. I prefer the 2x17670 for size but either or it looks just as good.
The HA color is similar to both the 1 cell detonator extender when using 3x17500 and the slip on version when using 2 x17670's in the M4. Sleek match ..lines,scallops.fins blend well IMHO. Sci-Fi retro 1960' look though true to form and function. [ever see Forbiden Planet ?]
Could use front armor like a hinged scope cap when going rough.
Now this is one light I wont leave home without...my new edc..lol:grin2:
