Can the X300 accept AW RCR123s or is it primaries only? Also, have there been any rumors of new Surefire handgun lights coming out in the near future? Been looking to get one of these for a while but would hold off if something new was coming out soon. Thanks.

I would not use anything except primary lithium CR123a's in the light. The higher voltage from the RCR might blow the LED.
The newest X series light is the X400, which is a X300 with a red laser. It has a different mounting system(more permanent ish). Same brightness light output.

Be very careful!!!
CR123 primaries = 3.0V
RCR123 = 3.7V (LiCo, IMR), fully charged 4.2V
The only RCR123s that are 3.0V are LiFePO4 or 3.7V RCRs with a voltage regulator to bring them down to 3.0V (with very limited capacity)

I wouldn't take a chance on pushing it with something that needs to be relied on 100% like a weapon light. Stick with primaries in an X300.
