I have a few questions
- do you ship to Indonesia?
- how much is shipping cost?
- is it safe for AW's RCR (not IMR) to run on 2800mA?

Regards,
Sugiarto

No, the maximum for li-ion cells is 2C, which is 1.500 mAh for an RCR123/750mAh cell.

To draw 2,8A you MUST use IMR cells, they can take up to 8C which is 4.400 mAh for an AW 16340/550mAh cell!

I'm already looking for something to buy (end of) next month...

A floody SST-90 sounds interesting of course, but I wonder how short that burst on high must be, without melting the light away? I would opt for the 2800mAh driver, 5 modes.

Are all 3 tailcap colors GITD with backlit option?

The backlit option will show throw all the colors except Black..
(but i dont have black ones anyways)

Cincinnati area, but lots of travel
I have to chime in that these lights are pretty damn good - and where else can you get a backlit tailcap. I used to do ALOT of travel - and to look in a bag and "there's the light" with the backlit tailcap is fantastic.

I had the mini-123 EDC with the MC-E & sold it - hanging onto the Sabrewolf 18650 version, I found the 18650 size much better for me (YMMV) - not too many folks say "that light is too small for me". I'm try to not buy new lights...., but if I was I would be VERY tempted by the SST-50 (have 2 lights with this LED- very nice! & my "last light" coming in with a SST-50) and seeing how the SST-50 is so nice, wonder about a SST-90........

Ok, so what would be the brightest possible using only primaries with more than the 3 modes and what would those modes be? I may want to use RCRs, but have no experience with them to date. Thanks!

Primaries can only be used with the stock 3-mode driver
because it is a boost driver. And therefore makes up for the
lower voltage the primaries put out. You are much better off
using RCR123 Batteries with the other driver choices.

If you still wanted to use primaries, Then count on a 20% loss
in lumen output :(

Robert,

How does the 5-mode drive work on the 2800mA driver? What levels and strobes?

Do you have a trade in policy? ( I own the light that nfetterly used to own) (just kidding).

Put me on the list - I will let you know the options I need.

Thanks Robert

Any upgrades available for my credit card light / USB machine yet?!?!

I actually upgrade the 5-mode driver to handle 2.8A.
Modes: Hi 100% > Mid 35% > Lo 20% > Strobe > SOS

And what credit card light was it?

Do not overcharge, do not overdischage, do not leave discharged, potential of leaking or popping... Whew! Sounds like a lot of work! I'll still consider the RCRs.

SST-90 can that even be used with the 3 mode boost driver and primary cell? What could be the potential output?

Robert,

I have one of your EDC chimera lights. Love that thing!

Thanks for the info on the modes...I am trying to get away from the SOS & strobe, so the 2-mode will probably work best.

Thanks!

I think the SST-50 would be a better choice :)
The SST-90 would be nowhere near its potential..

Ohh Yeah!! Is it your Daily EDC? (please say yes) hehe

Robert,

am curious about the SST-50 but wondering is it less "floody" than the 90 or about the same. Wanting more throw than flood and don't need 5 multi modes. High/low or even DD single level could be fine.

what do you suggest?

I actually upgrade the 5-mode driver to handle 2.8A.
Modes: Hi 100% > Mid 35% > Lo 20% > Strobe > SOS

Would it be possible to make this a 3 stages driver with mode memory: Hi 100% > Mid 35% > Lo 20%, no funky strobe or SOS?

I do already use the VX-Ultra with SST-50 on AW IMR16340, so personally I would prefer a mini WOL with SST-90 and a 3 stages 2.8A driver

Just wondering what would be the possible max usable runtimes (to prevent overheating!) on med and high with AW IMR16340?
