I want to replace the "grip ring" and spacers on my M3 tube with a piece of bicycle handlebar foam. (Similar to what ASP uses on their batons)
How do I get the rings off without damaging or cutting them? They seem to be as tight as the proverbial cheerleader on prom night!
I just want to be able to take them off and keep them in the box in case I decide to use them again.

Hot water? Crisco? Incense & chanting?

Thanks for your help!

I took the one off mine that sticks out, so it'ld fit in a sheath. It really wasn't a problem. Take the end cap off. Then get a blunt object to stick under the "o-ring" (I used a popcycle stick so not to damage the finish). Pry up the ring onto the body & just roll it off the light. That's the way they got it on. It might seem tight, but it is rubber. TX

You can buy extra spacers and get rid of the one that sticks out. That way you can have a straight body. I did that so it would fit in the 6P leather holster.
