Surefire Z46 (M3 Head) - old style (finned) vs. new style

I have three lego lights with new style Z46 bezels as well as a tool from RPM that enabled me to open them up and use a Nailbender LED drop-in in each of them.

I wonder if anyone has both, the old finned Z46 and the new one and could help me out if the old one could be opened with the same tool as the new one? Also if anyone already tried a D36 drop-in with these? I might be able to get one of these oldies but would only be interested if I could pop in a LED drop-in.

Sorry..I didn't see this thread earlier.

Yes to both questions. The RPM tool will open the finned Z46, and a D36 drop-in runs in it just fine.
