Best batteries for led lenser p14

hi guys, im new here (my first thread) and i was just wondering what would be the best type of batteries for maximum power for use in my led lenser p14, e.g. alkaline,lithium, nimh, nicd.

Ni-MH - good output, runtime, regulation + they're rechargeable.

LED-Lenser state to only use alkalines, but I have been using my P14 with NiMH re-chargeables for a while now without issues.

I use NiMH as well (against manufacturers warnings) and have had no ill effects. I would *not* use AA lithiums (energizer or other) - their voltage is too high, and will overdrive / damage the led.
