Ok I have two flashlights. One has a CREE Q3 and the other has a XLamp XR-E. Other than the two differently labeled LED Models the flashlights are identical. Are these two LEDs the same? Am I missing something obvious? Honestly I am new to high end LEDs and bin codes etc. Hope this isn't an embarrassingly stupid question :duh2:

I think a Cree Q3 could either be an XP-E or XR-E, so it's probably the same XR-E type as in the other light. Xlamp is a series of LEDs made by Cree, i.e. XR-E or XP-G

Q3 is just a bin code. XR-E is the emitter So yes, they are probably both the same thing...a XR-E Q3.
