My wife dropped a Quarter off a self in our closet. Well it fell and landed between the wall and transformer for my US shorting it out and making quit a mess of the wall and transformer. The output of the transformer now read 19.5volts with no load and I am not sure if that is what it should be. So could someone please check theirs and let me know if mine is FUBAR.

My 500MAH Sl wall wart is measuring 17V w/out load...Sounds like yours might be toasty...

JT,
I just measured 3 different 12V transformers. 2 were 16.5V NL, one was 17.5V NL. I would say yours is a little high. TX

My Mag Rechargeable transformer reads 17.38V. IMO u should try to measure it under load, i.e. connect a 12V bulb and read it out, sometimes when the transformer is toasted it reads out high v out but under load its 0 v out. In that case u can just buy at radio shack the core transformer 12V (the same mamp u got), if the inner circuit isn't damaged, and replace the orig one.
