assemble, along with 2 18500 batteries, to form a working light? Is there anything else needed?

You need a bezel for the drop in. http://www.oveready.com/a-parts/bezels/cat_24.html You also will need a C-series or M-series adapter for the Moddoolar tube (depending if you go for a 6P/C2 bezel or a M2 bezel).

Just to make sure, M2 and 6P/C2 uses same c series adapter. You won't need the M series adapter since the drop in you selected wont work in M series light such as Surefire M3 or M6. Will work in M2 but you will want the fitting ring with M2.

You could always purchase one of his bored Surefire 9P's. They usually come with a bezel and tail cap. Then you could install your drop in. Just an option for you.
