Hi there, love the forum!

I want to buy a new flashlight, and have very specific needs. I'm replacing a Legend LX, as I can't afford the batteries at the rate I go through them! I'd love something as bright as an LX, in a rechargeable version, but I can't find any ratings on the output of them. Does anyone know what the LX's output is?

If not, this is what I'm looking for...
Small (Close to Brinkman Legend LX)
Rechargeable (This is a must)
Bright (As bright as a Legend LX)
Dual Mode (Is this even possible in an ultra-bright model?)

Any thoughts? I think the most helpful information would be the LX's output rating.

Thanks
Jesse

The output of the LX is a bit more than a surefire E2e, which puts out 60 lumens. Surefire's 8NX is only slightly larger than the LX, with a slightly thinner head and a longer body, about 1.5 inches longer at 8" overall, and about 1.5oz heavier. It should be brighter than your LX at 110 lumens. Surefire's 9AN has dual mode brightness, but it is quite expensive, about 180 without charger. You could probably find an 8NX with batteries, charger, and a beamshaper (diffuser for close up work) or red filter for decreased output for less than the 9AN alone. I would guess the LX's output at 80-85 lumens.

Hope this helps,
Chris
