Here are a couple of lights that I've spotted online that are apparently up for pre-order.
Audacious or Hideous? Different, I suppose?
Pricing appears quite unprecedented for a non-custom light though.

Personally, I'll stick to a HMW Shakudo Twisted Trident with Gold inlays over these, anytime. :D

Damn, that's hideous!

Wait till you see the price tag! :p

I cannot verify the validity of this, but my local retailer lists the preorder price at SGD$4200 (~US$3100+) for the larger light and SGD$3500 (~US$2600) for the smaller!!!

A quick Google search shows a prominent Japanese retail site listing for the 16340 light at 343,600円 (~US$3300+).

We're talking SPY or Hanko Exotic Trident money.

The 16340 looks good except for the side switch, that makes it look really cheap. If they just did this in titanium and kept the price reasonable I think it could've been a hit. I hate the herpes on the smaller one.

I'm with the others here. I don't see anything worth 1/20th of that price. I might pay $50 for it just for sh*ts and giggles, but over $3000? Nope. Not even if that was 50 million year old petrified wood.

Well it's not everyday I am lost for words about a flashlight .......I actually don't mind the takemitu that bad but it's defo got a love /hate thing going on. Many problems I see, the switch design , completely out of place and needs to be of the same material as the light . Then uses, it's more of a shelf piece but if any talk come up on it and the price was mentioned,a straight jacket would follow ! Crazy prices if correct Jon, this is definitely a case of beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

If anyone did invest(maybe not the right word) in one of these lights, they could rest assured they will be in single figure ownership . I am presuming a one off of each material/s to limit sales and to make it a rare light. To mass produce this light for cost/sales does not make any sense to me.

One thing we can say, mecArmy is not like many other brands ! Be it good, bad or fugly .

Honestly, the first one looks pretty neat to me. But the second one, I have a hard time understanding it. SO, it must be very artful. I am not going to flame another cultures tastes. To each is own.
But the prices. Wow, just WOW! But I hear they are using left over Surefire Luxen Cool White leds?? Kidding. Seriously, I will wait for the Takemitu Tivn before I decide to pull the trigger.

I doubt the pics do it full justice. I like the styling, though the 10180 version appears a bit too stubby. The functionality kills the art though- that port cover is hideous against the carefully crafted body and the switch cover too generic at the price. Not to mention the stated specs make it doubtful that it uses a high CRI LED....
Just for comparison, consider the Lumintop Prince. They used a metal switch and made the entire light feel premium with extra attention to detail. This Mecarmy light has a truly exquisite body, but doesn't bother to bring the quality of the exposed working parts up to a point where it doesn't detract from the rest. If the switch was made out of the titanium-gold metal and flush or slightly inset with the light, the port cover was at least molded and coloured to match the aesthetic, and the light used a 4500k Nichia 219b or other high CRI LED, the perceived quality would be much higher. For me at least it would inspire a lot more confidence in their attempt to release a truly premium product.

This did get me thinking. Who will be the first to make a flashlight out of a bone? Carrying around a 16" femur throwing 1000lm? Sure why not!
