Hey guys, firstly I'd like to say I have googled but to no avail. I've been researching drivers to get a better understanding and have a couple Q's I can't find answers to.

I want to DIY an EDC as an exercise of gaining understanding. I've been looking at drivers and am getting confused. From my understanding drivers such as the A17L + FET use a mosfet to supply 'unlimited' current to the led and use a micro processor to switch this on and off at a high frequency to control brightness (PWM) but then use a single 7135 to maintain extremely low current for firefly mode.
Drivers using multiple 7135 chips (let's use x8 as an example) will have 4 pairs of chips. The microprocessor will direct power through 1,2,3 or 4 pairs to control brightness and do not use PWM except for those with strobe mode.
Have i interpreted the info I have gathered correctly or not?

Any further info on this would be brilliant.

Thanks
Thom.
