A good friend of mine trains others in fitness, sometimes at night where there is little lighting.

Last night she asked me if I had a light that could illuminate the fitness area for about 8-12 adults and I gave her my 1,250 lumen Luminar Lantern that runs on "D" batteries.

Today she reported the brightest setting wasn't bright enough for training (but ample for playing volleyball in her backyard.)

This Luminar Lantern has an 83 foot beam distance.

What might you good people be able to suggest?

Thank you.

If she is going to be using it regularly then she (and the environment) will benefit from using a rechargeable light.

I'd recommend rechargeable lanterns such as The Siege or The Siege X USB, but they are less lumens than the 1,250 lumen lantern you already lent out, so maybe she'd need a 2-4 of them.

If they arn't enough then you'll need to look at scene lighting options from Streamlight and Pelican, but these are not something you can throw in a backpack and they are expensive.

Personally I think lanterns and scene lighting are not suitable for this application and if I were the trainer then I'd just advise everyone attending to bring a headlamp, simple.

Thank you, Go Vegan, I will look over your recommendations. And the weird thing is I was also thinking in the far back of my mind about what would be wrong with everyone wearing a headlamp? I'll let you know what becomes decided. She told me today that it would be for the Fall which we all know is when it gets darker quicker.
