Proper Lamp \"Break In\"?

In another thread someone mentioned that SureFire's xenon lamps are "pre aged." A Search turned up nothing. Is there definitive info regarding lamp "break in?" Does such a practice really exist?

I'm wondering if the halogen cycle becomes effective after only a few seconds or does the lamp need more time to rise to the proper temperature? I'd guess intermittant (tactical) use may shorten the lamp life due to the thermal shock rather than lack of a complete halogen cycle.

I will appreciate any hard info, rather than guesses, on this subject. Thank you.
