Are the SF L1 switch and the L2 switch the same?

As of my knowledge the L2 has got two electronics
for the two light levels. The L1 on the other hand
just works with one regulator and an resistor insert
in series by the switch.

So how does the current go from the switch inside the
L2 to the second electronics? (if the switch is the
same as in the L1) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

The tailcaps are the same as far as I know - the L2 has two drivers in the front instead of one compared to the L1.

Re: Are the SF L1 switch and the L2 switch the sam

I believe the drop in voltage due to the 10 ohm resistor in the switch somehow is detected by the dual circuits in the front end and the low level driver is switched into play, on the L2. In the case of the L1, the voltage drop is enough to drop the circuit out of regulation and into underdriven direct drive. In the case of the A2,the voltage drop is sensed and the Incan driver shuts down but current continues to pass to the LED's.

Thanks McGizmo for light me up /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

sounds somewhat less effective. They are need
two drivers for the L2 and there is some Power
lost at the "dual stage" resistor. Maybe its still
cheaper that one driver with proper pwm regulation ...
