I think this ia an urban legend. Why? Well, I maintain e-mail servers and the hardware and datacom required to process 4 million e-mails a day is stagering. Then there's the fact that, unless it was all computer generated, one out of every 10 people would have to send him one e-mail every single day.
I've never seen an e-mail go to bill gates from any of the mail systems that I manage.

On second thought, why doesnt he change his address and only tell folks who use it? I do not believe I have seen his address anywhere and I am sure he could use a different one for internal emails.
On second note, wonder how much email stevecase gets? I use to forward my spam to him when I first joined.

I guarantee you he does have his own address that only he knows. Its probably something that has nothing to do with his name nor affiliation with Microsoft.
