Has the Surefire L2 design been changed since introduction? In other words, if I buy an older stock item off eBay, would I be getting the same thing as from Surefire directly?

Also, I am not clear on what the reflector is made of. My L1 seems to have a flat-front lens into which the LED is set (?). Surefire's L2 page says

"Construction - CNC machined aerospace-grade aluminum; O-ring sealed; Pyrex® lens . . ."

but elsewhere I read about a "reflector." What is actually inside that head? Not that it makes a lot of difference, but I am curious.

Well, I can remove the lens on mine (bought directly from Surefire last October). The reflector seems to be directly machined out of the metal body of the head, and then coated/surface treated to get the reflective surface.

Otherwise, I have no idea whether or not the L2 design has been changed.
