Hi there, new member here.

I have always wondered what kind of light they use in the movies. The only way that I can describe it, is it's usually black, is carried by a handle, has a coiled up cord hanging from it and projects a donut like beam on the wall. The last movie I saw this light in was Alien vs. Predator.

Can anyone tell me any info on this light and where I can buy one?

Thanks, you light up my life /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

In AVP they use Maxabeams. But don't forget that the "donut" beam can be focused down to a razor thin pencil beam that can illuminate stuff 1.5 miles away with the push of a button /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

They also use Maxabeams in:

Blade, Demolition Man, Earthquake, Ghost Ship, Gone in 60 Seconds, Jurassic Park (1, 2 & 3), Sahara, Sphere, X-Files, Volcano , and The Day After Tomorrow.

Their website is PeakBeam.com
