CPF Terminology - Glossary to help noobs....

I think it would be a good idea to make a glossary of all the unique terms associated with hardcore flashaholism. I'm not really good at this kind of thing, so someone might want to "thread-jack" this thread from me and take the lead on this subject.
If it grows big enough (hopefully), maybe we can get the mods to stick-it. Anyone want to start?

It's funny that you posted this, I was planning on doing the same thing myself, being a noob, I can see the huge benifit of it.

Honestly, I had no idea what EDC meant when I joined... but good thing I have an EVERYDAY CARRY /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Spottie - refers to a flashlight that puts out a tight hotspot type beam.

Floodie - refers to a flashlight that puts out a flood type beam

Throw - distance that a beam carries.

Bezel - the head of the flashlight, where the lens and lamp assembly/bulb is located.

LA- Lamp Assembly

HOLA - High Output Lamp Assembly

EDC - Every Day Carry

while you're at it, why not centralize the effort and contribute your finds to the CPF Wiki (link on the main bar on top)?
