Does anyone know how far away the heat sink slug of a LuxV should be positioned from the rear face of a McR-27? I have tried sanding down a spacer from 2.6mm to 2.2mm, until the reflector seems total yellow, when looking into it. Problem is that the beam shows some doughnut hole.

I have found that a gap of about .120" between the heat sink slug plane and the rear face of the 27 mm reflector will typically remove most of the null in the center of the beam.

if moving the luxeon out of the reflector doesn't help, then perhaps moving it further into the reflector is needed.
