Well, I thought it was a good idea.:ohgeez:

I week or so ago, I decided I need to put some lube on the threads of my RR 2aaa light so the tailcap would turn easier and used my 15 year old tube of "Lube Gel" from Radio Shack. I also thought "what could it hurt" by putting some of this stuff on the o-ring as well. Bad idea! It softened up the o-ring so that now, even though I've cleaned all of the lube off the o-ring and inside surface of the tailcap, it still doesn't provide enough resistence to the tailcap turning- ironic, huh?

Does anyone have any idea where to get some of these small cross-section o-rings? I've checked locally and all that's available are the thicker cross-section o-rings of the correct ID, but they are way too thick for the tailcap to go over.
