Sold/Expired Two Tone XM-L Series - New EDC

I’ve been out of touch for a couple of weeks. I know that I have a few PMs to answer, which I'll do now. Long hours in the shop are less appealing in the summer than in the winter so I haven’t been hard at it. That fact and other obligations will keep me occupied until October, when I...

Sold/Expired Two Tone XM-L Series - New EDC

Hmmm.... I wonder. Thanks for all the kind words, guys! This was a fun project, though I think it will be a while before I do another clip mounted on a grip ring. Getting that to come out right taxed my little brain!

Sold/Expired Two Tone XM-L Series - New EDC

Re: Two Tone XM-L Series Here are the latest in the Two Tone series. This is a sort-of-matched set for an owner who wanted an 18650 and an RCR123 EDC that are similar in appearance. Both use XM-L emitters with three-level drivers. The 18650 draws 2.8A on High and uses a 26mm reflector...

Sold/Expired Two Tone XM-L Series - New EDC

The one shown in post #165 is about 3.7" A bit could be trimmed off. This one has some extra length at the front because it will get crenelations. And Chauncey, just looking at all those lights in one place makes me tired. That's a lot of late nights! :tired:

Well, folks, my shop time has plummeted with the arrival of some sunny weather but at least I've been picking away at an interesting project. Here's a roughed-out 123/XM-L light that is half of a pair. The mate is a similar 18650/XM-L.

    Awesome machine work by saltytri

Well, I got a bag of nice red rags there - they work as advertised and I haven't had to make a warranty claim on them yet. Seriously though, I've been gone for a couple of weeks and am just now getting back to my favorite pastime of reading CPF. Thanks for the kind words, gents...

Sold/Expired Two Tone XM-L Series - New EDC

At last, the XP-G EDCs are done. A copper light engine really isn't thermally necessary for an XP-G but cool factor is quite another matter. There's always someone in the crowd who has to be different. One gentleman wanted a brass old-school look with a...

    Tool recommendations?

Yesterday I got a 5/8" shank cutoff holder and bits from Curtis. I haven't had a chance to put them through their paces but the stuff looks very nice. I'll report in again once I see how they do. Thanks, Curtis. And the thing about the cheap light gave me a chuckle. What you have to...
