When i carry mine flatline, i simply undo tail cap a few mm if its not going to be used anytime soon. By that, normal carry, if i am using it, pocketing, then using again, i wont lock out. Touch wood, never had an issue with the side switch, even ones more susceptible than the ZL's switch. Just lock out on the cap, usually its not even a 1/4 turn.

Zebralight fixed this a few generations ago. The rubber clicky is now recessed and takes a firmer press to activate. Been carrying my SC62 clipped down in my pocket for 3 years now, and have never had it accidentally activate.

Nitecore MH20 NW. Plenty bright, very mature beam profile, good mode spacing, easy UI with shortcuts to low and turbo, voltage indicator, USB charging. My two little gripes - it's slightly chubby and I've seen neutral LEDs with higher CRI.

I normally find 18650 lights to be too big to edc since I have a bunch of other aaa lights that do the job quite well in an urban setting.

That said, I recently purchased two new lights from Astrolux, the S41 and the S1. Between the two, I would edc the S1 with a Keepower 1200mah 18350 or an 18650 if I need a longer runtime.

I also have a trusty Armytek Predator v2.5, still one of my faves, if not my favorite. The S1 being a very close 2nd.

Zebralight SC64c. used to be the 63,62 and before that an HDS. But with the high to low output range, great pocket clip and usage tested durability, I don't see it being displaced by anything other then a 65.

To those of you who pocket carry a Zebralight, how do you prevent it from turning on in your pocket?

I've got an SC51W that I bought several years ago and the side clicky is way too exposed for pocket carry. Have they corrected this in current models?

Yeah, they fixed that problem a long time ago. I've never had one of my Zebralights turn on in my pocket, so I never bother to lock them out.

Recently got an Oveready BOSS 70 in copper and I love it. I can't believe how small this light is--it fits perfectly in my left front pocket. Actually it's shorter than the Malkoff MDC I carried for several years. I switch between two 18350's and one 18650 when I know I'm going to run it a while (I have it programmed differently for the two battery setups).

Elzetta Bones.

Bones is excellent, i like the option to change from flood to throw easily(in throw mode for now). The clicky which is almost silent is one of the nicest clickies ever! The ano is nice and can tell HA unlike many saying it is...................But one of the main things for me is simple stupid single mode, i know each and every time what i am getting. No matter how many clicks i do, i know what i get and its a nice 650lm of around 4000k ish. Very easy on my eye anyway.

A trio of well liked 18650 lights, the MD2 for a bit now, has the sportac xhp35 HI in which is excellent, would put them all around 4000k

^^Mark I'd like to try a Zebralight if someone could explain the U.I. lol

I know this is an old thread, but I think I have an easy way to describe the UI on the zebra lights. I'm talking about the new ones. You can read all the details on how to operate each light on their website. These are details beyond what is in their manuals.

The key that I have found is where they tell you to do X-number of doubleclicks, just multiply the number of doubleclicks by 2 and click that many times without stopping. For example, when they say to do 6 double clicks, just click 12 times without stopping. Where they tell you to do seven double clicks three times, just click 21 times without stopping. This actually is all that is required to operate the lights. Remember that once in programming mode, double clicks increase the light intensity and tripleclicks decrease the light intensity.

Much easier to do than to even describe, so give it a try.

I find the Olight S2Rii pretty hard to beat for EDC. It's not much bigger than an 18650, has a decent two way clip, four hours and 400lm on high, and a built-in fuel gauge.

Have to agree. This is a really nice (and very small) light. A bit too big for pocket carry for me (I keep it in my backpack at all times on jobsites). Headlamps I have EDC in 18650 are all Zebralights.

I have not got mine but I reckon zebralight sc64 c LE would be sweet! It will probably replace my sc600 iii HI as my favorite stock 18650 light.
