I saw a 'vette parked that way a few days ago.
Back when my daily was an old m880 pickup, I would purposely park as close to the drivers side as possible whenever encountering one like that.

I parked my car in the lot at work between 2 properly parked cars. There was plenty of room on both sides.

At the end of the day I found the 2 cars that had been on either side were gone and 2 different cars had taken those spaces. Each driver had parked with their passenger side about 6" from my car! Luckily, it was a hatchback, so I was able to squeeze into the driver's seat and back out.

I find it works best to draw a chalk outline of one of your passengers laying down in the space next to the driver's side, then spilling some ketchup in the head or chest area of the outline. You'll never have trouble getting in your car again.
Just seems like a little too much effort. I try to park at the last or first spot at a row of spots, wherever I go. Back up or head first depends on which side my door will be on that isn't facing another spot.

Edit: Typo.
