I just ordered one.

does anyone know if I will need to charge it when it arrives before using it?

also how many charges can the battery take before it's toast?

thanks in advance.

It's charged when you get it. Lithium Ions are good for 500-1000 power cycles.

I just got my nw V6 in today! I don't have the CW version to compare the NW, as the CW was a gift for a coworker, but I did compare it to my reference 5600k N219 light, which is slighlty on the magenta side and has a gorgeous sunlike tint.

The NW V6 is warmer, but not by much. My guess is it's 5000-5200 kelvin cct. It's a nice white! Neither cold or warm. Probably about as neutral as you can get. Doesn't look greenish either.

I received mine today.

i was curious about something though. Why does thrunite claim it has about 150 minutes of runtime on turbo? from what I have read it drops down in brightness after about only about 20 minutes.

It runs at 1700ish lumens for the first 2-3 minutes, then it drops to the 1000ish lumen output for the remainder of its runtime. I doubt the single 26650 can manage to sustain 1000ish fully regulated lumens for 2 hours though, probably more like 1-1.5 hours.

I never notice the drop from 1700 to 1000 lumens all that much, as subjectively it's a small difference to the eye.

So how how can they get away with saying 1,700 lumens for 150 minutes when that is not true?

Well you aren't wrong. I don't see anywhere where they say that it steps down, so it is misleading.
