At 3 AM You Are Awaken By Sounds Outside Your Door... What Light Do You Want?

Well, if I wasn't carrying an AK-47 in my bathrobe, I'd go for ...

You remind me of someone I used to know who cut a consealed door in the roof overhang outside his front door and using "borderline civil" methods to discourage marketers

Met him at a formal gathering...he was a beekeeper
:ooo:

but being on topic, M6-1185
But like guns, identify your taret before engaging. As once I've had cops on the front door reporting for a case of domestic violence. I live at 3405 xxxxx xxxx Trail, the call was from 3405 xxxxx xxxx Blvd, just a couple streets north. it happened to be at 1AM

I usually have my LF5XT on me at all times but I'd be reaching for my Mag85. Bright and could also double as a club. Too bad it is such a PITA to own firearms in Canada :(

polarion for the win.
too bad I don't have one.

ouch, illum.
wonder how well the marketers liked them.

Glock 19 with attached Glock GTL10 weapon-light.
I'd probably have my A2-RD with me too as a backup and for low-light, stealth navigation.

But then again, I wouldn't want to lose the element of surprise for my grenade launcher.

2 Rottweilers trained to tear off body parts..... Just for Fun........

After the perp comes inside......

That way he can't crawl back out. I don't even bother waking up till I hear the screams..:nana:

No one comes to my door...................... ever.......

I Like it that way.

Tough question. Ideally I would like whatever lights the local law enforcement officers carry, preferably said lights being in the hands of said officers.

Otherwise, for something short of an obvious threat or break-in attempt, anything relatively bright. Mag 3D with 4C option, lantern with a ROP Lo bulb, etc., depending how far I think I need to see.

This is a scenario of investigating vs. calling for help and hunkering down.

Easy for me. I'd grab my M/\G 3C host w/Cyan Lux III and UCL to have in my hand if I decided to turn it on -- that's just the kind of use I had it built for.

If I need a light I will grab my Inova T1 which sits right beside my .45 in the bedside table, neither will be needed if I look out the peephole and it is a friend. The door won't be opened if it is not, but I will gladly phone for the police to help them, since they are visiting at 3:00am they definitly mustneed help . The light and .45 are only in case they get overly anxious for help and try to force me to call.

What do you guys have to say?

6D mag. I'm in Australia after all  guns are a *little* bit harder to get here than over there in America and even pepper spray/tazers are pretty much unobtainium.

For things that go bump in the night I grab my Insight Typhoon 2/ or my SF M3 and my Rock Island Armory compact 1911 in 45 ACP.

I say any light with an acute lead delivery system, ranging from 55 grains to 1 oz., would be sufficient.

Granted the last time I had a noise outside I pulled a 'Gran Torino' and wandered outside to see my mailbox being bashed with bats by idiots in a jeep. By pulling a 'Gran Torino' I mean my trust ole' M1 was the closest thing to me, with some Lake City M2 ball. I have since learned from that, five years ago.

I'd make sure the deadbolt was thrown, hit the outside light, and go to a dark window to see what's happening. Probably have the L1 in my hand, too.
