I fell asleep last night on the couch w/my wife and the loving, beautiful woman that she is; she left me there:duh2:

So I am sound asleep, and I am being awaken by a much softer than normal knocking at my door and my dog who is beginning to stir. Something was definately not right and it may have been accentuated by my grogginess after waking from a sound sleep.

At any rate, the only light that I wanted to pick up was my Surefire U2A. I liked having the option of selecting the level w/the light off and I liked the new lower low for moving about the house w/out lighting the whole place up.

I was able to stealthily position myself in proximity to the door so that I could fire 3 rounds through it which apparently scared the pants off of whatever it was behind the door.

I think that my Surefire saved my life last night and I am going to send this story in.

:nana:

Just kidding about shooting through the door and all that stuff, I thought it might make a few of you laugh:nana: But I will be that a couple of you were thinking "right on brother" weren't you?:poke:

But seriously, I have McGizmo's, Endeavor's, A Spy 007, Ra's, a Novatac, Surefire's, Malkoff Mags and Malkoff Surefire's and Fenix lights... the only one that I wanted is the U2A.

What do you guys have to say?

Well, if I wasn't carrying an AK-47 in my bathrobe, I'd go for my Tigerlight-R (regulated). Doubles as pepper spray and club, while throwing a very far reaching, into the dark parts of the yard beam.

Of course, turning on the porch light might help, and maybe the front yard flood lights. But then again, I wouldn't want to lose the element of surprise for my grenade launcher.

:tinfoil:

well, any 2-level light that you can adjust by twisting the bezel would work as well.

You twist the bezel on the pre-set low you have (and which you can set to the level that will work for you to move about in the dark yet will be relatively hard to notice for someone not as close by) and then you switch the light on.

If you want max-brightness, you can turn the bezel to that level. If you want to do it stealthily, but after you have first moved about, you first switch the light off before you turn the bezel, and then you have max brightness available again at the click of your switch.

Which lights do that with a very low low. I have an LD10 but the low is around 10 lumens and a bit more than I would like.

TK10 for me. It's bright, grippy and hefty, and lights up a wide area while still having some decent throw. I also like it's UI for this purpose.

Yike's!

I'd say I wouldn't use any light!! I would probably pull out my Ruger SP101 (loaded with Magtech 63gr +P+ .38 Spec) and wait for them to turn on the light or I would do it and keep the element of surprise. God help them if they decide to attack my family.

Mac's Torch. :naughty:

No permit needed for seared retinas.

No light or weapons required for me. I have a trapdoor installed at my door entrance. One push of a button and it becomes the problem of whomever lives on the floor below mine.

I suppose "muzzle flash" is not a valid choice?

Ever since I modded it, my LumaPower MRV w/ P7 @ 2.8A has been my "I really don't like the sound of that bump in the night" investigation light. WOW is it bright! It's in my left hand... Kimber Custom II in the right.

Either a Maglite 2C Malkoff or a Maglite 6C terralux TLE-6EX.

And ,of course, a gun as a light is no weapon. Browning 1910 .32ACP or one of my Colts (Python, Diamondback, Detective Special).

Kind regards,
Joris
