Can anyone with an E1L with KX1B head measure the current draw so we can compare it with the current draw on the E1L with KX1 head?

.04A on low
.40A on high
Measured with Surefire primary at 3.01v

So about 3 hours on high and 35 hours on low

Has anyone done a runtime/regulation chart for the E1L with KX1B head yet?

Thanks Bill for explaining the difference between KX1 and KX1B.
The KX1B traditionally found in E2L AA is also observed with the current E1L. My question was, is the KX1B found in the E2L AA any different from the KX1B found in the recent E1L?

Edit: I was discussing the wrong head.

I doubt it. I would assume Surefire would have a different model number if it had different internals for different voltages. Since 1 primary = 3 volts, and 2xAA = 3 volts, it is probably the same exact head on the E2L-AA and E1L.

I ordered an E1L from amazon that listed as sold from "Bob Wards" outdoors. It came with a KX1B as well. Really like the light, to my eye there is no way this is only 45 lumens...

I just got an E1L cheap from LA Policegear. The box indicated the 3/45 lumen model but the light had an KX1B head. This kind of bummed me out as I have been really trying hard to get the KX1 head. I really wanted the 4 hour runtime on high...

I have as well E1L and E2L AA. E1L came with KX1 head and E2L AA with KX1B head. Don't really know the difference because the brightness is EXACTLY the same(measured with light meter), definitely closer to 80lm than 45lm.
But KX1 head has slightly warmer tint(propably due to tint lottery) so I tried it with E2L AA. Then it was some flickering issue however, so I changed it back.

I measured 3h 30m practically stable output(~90%) with E1L and KX1 head and 75% output until 4 hours, so I guess it should be the same with KX1B head.

Surefire brightness statements sometimes are misleading. My E2L is claimed as 45lm on the package, 60lm in the specifications, but I measured it has around 100 true lumens...
Yes; E2L is brighter than E2L AA(and almost half of E2DL), despite the specification tells the opposite!

Thanks for the runtime analysis. This is good to know!

I had an E1L, with the KX1 head, and it's output by ceiling bounce was pretty close to 80 lumens. The 80 lumen E1B and my L1 6th gen were just a tad brighter.

I actually felt the high on the E1L was more than enough for whatever nighttime woods walking I did. I definitely wouldn't want to sacrifice runtime for an increase to say 120 or 150 lumens, I really don't need or want that much output (from this light...I have other lights for that). I'll get the EB1 for another pocket rocket to go with my E1B, MDCs, and Quark AA on a 14500.

Just received my E1L from Heinnie Haynes and it came with a KX1B head and the old style clip. The box says 3 lumens low and 45 lumens high with a runtime of 48 house low and 8.5 hours high. It has a nice creamy white tint and I don't think the low is 3 lumens. Was hoping for the old KX1 head but If the runtime is what it actually says in the box, then, I'd be a happy bunny.

Just done a run time test and KX1B does lived up to 8.5 hours. Left it running at 10 pm last night at around 6:35 am it still runs at about 5 lumens. At 8:39 it started blinking nut when I turn it off and switch it on, It still gives out something like 30 Lumens high and about 4-5 lumens low. Excellent run time and usability.
