I have been thinking of picking up one of those 6V lantern battery spotlights to mod.
But I dont want to use that 6V lantern battery.

I used to see a few spotlights that ran off 4 D batts, but cant find any now.
Anyone seen or know a place for resonably cheap 4D spotlights, with a fairly deep or large reflector?

Thanks.

If it is 4 D cells lanterns you are looking for, you could do a lot worse than to look at the Eveready (Energizer) TUF4D1. This uses the SKPR 823 bulb rated at 4.8V 1.1A.

You can get a 4D to 6V rectangular lantern battery adapter and then be able to run on either type of battery. More choices of lights that way.

Paulr,
yes I found one of those online for $5. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
So that helps out alot.

I might just get a cheap Everready at my local wally world for $7. Just to play with, and see if its even close to worthy of a 5W led.

The main thing, is the reflector. Kinda hard to tell by looks.
