Sounds like the current bodies must be bored slightly bigger. I have md2,md3, and md4 from Within the last couple months.

My protected ga's and protected lg mj1s are slightly bigger in diameter than the keeppowers and they all fit just fine. I also have protected sanyo 2000mah 18500s and they fit the md3 fine.

I'll have to double-check but some protected cells doubled up are too long(i think mainly 2x18350 in md2 and possibly 2x18500 in md3)

I also need to motivate myself to post my findings between m361n and m361 219b(high mode runtime tests)

My latest Malkoff/SF/OR lego... Cryos head + 6P body + Oveready 18350 extender + 2xAA Eneloop 2450mah via Delrin spacer + M31.

9P for short. ;)

E2 super throw just showed up, very similar to m61hot. They both measure 15 kcd but the e2st measures 2.1 amp @ 4.2v vs m61hot 1.7 amp @ 4.2v. Overall pretty cool

My E2 Super Throw also arrived today. I like its large, evenly bright spot, compared to the M61HOT's small spot and slightly less intense, large corona.

I do see a tiny dot of really cool CCT light in the center of the Super Throw's beam. Maybe that's the actual spot, and the more visible large area I previously thought was the spot is actually more like a corona.

It's more similar in lux and beam shape to the Surefire KE2-A head than the first generation M61T or M61HOT.

what kind of meter do you use? Glad you and Grizz got your super T's. Curious what both your opinions will be. Thanks for sharing what you have so far

Those of you who run the crenelated MD2 bezel, does it interfere with the spill of an M61? I like the added material at the front for impact resistance but I'm worried it'll cut into the spill.

Since the crenelation extends further forward than a standard head, I expect it does reduce the spill to some degree. I can measure it later tonight.

I bought it to achieve as much durability as possible within the platform, and there's no doubt it provides it.

The E2 Super Throw works very well. Among lights I own, in hot spot size and intensity, it most closely resembles the Surefire KE2-A weaponlight head. This is a very good thing, since that has been my benchmark for several years for the E-Series platform.

According to my light meter, it doesn't meet the 20,000 lux spec, but honestly, I wasn't expecting it to. To meet that lofty goal would likely require a much smaller central hot spot. The large, evenly lit spot should be more useful in the real world.

From a distance of 10 feet, the standard head with an M61 produced a beam the same diameter as that of the crenelated head.

Yep, I was wrong....no difference. The head's narrow opening puts the crenelation outside of the photon path.

Jose, I think INFRNL was referring to your light meter.

Thanks! There might be another MD2 in my future.

Thanks Jose for the beamshots comparison. How do you find the E2 Super Throw's beam? From what it looks, it's so simiar to the HOT.
