Can someone here tell me what the difference is between these four Surefire lights:

1. G2X LE
2. G2X Tactical
3. G2X Pro
4. G2X Pro V2.

All replies welcome.

Single mode lights also have an A or C on the bezel.
Dual Mode Pro (low/high) models have a B or D on the bezel.
A and B were the original 200 lumen models.
C and D can be either 320 or 600, however, if you have a serial number under the C or D, it's a 600.

Which is not an actual serial number, just a production control number, as I've seen more than one identical unit sharing the same number.

1: High/low
2: High only
3: low/High
4: Probably referring to Gen. 2? 600lm output on high vs 320lm on Gen. 1.
1st run of G2X were 200 lumens, 2nd were 320 lumens and the actual 3rd is 600 lumens.

Wow. Learn something we everyday. I've always wondered what those letter designations referred to.

The 320 lumen G2x Pro was seen as one of the best flashlights ever made in the history of mankind. But if you got one of the green tint biased ones……the worst.
How can one tell the difference before buying one? Are there tell tale signs? The reason I ask is a lot of sellers, even credible ones, sometimes don't even know what they're selling.

Best is to look at the LED. 200 lumens version is a small LED with green surrounding board. 320 version is a Nichia 219B, medium size LED with a tiny black triangle on one of the corners. 600 lumens version has a number on the head that looks like serial number (but it's not).

I have a later revision 320 lumen G2X Tactical that doesn't appear to have a Nichia. It has a gold looking board behind the LED and a cooler tint. This one came with a clicky tail cap and heavy orange peel reflector.
It's gamble what you'll get.

This is the one I got, Nichia 219B for the 320 lumen version. I've never seen a 320 lumen with another LED, but it doesn't mean they don't exist.

The tint is around 5000k (I guess).
