NLD - First Hank

I am now the owner of a brand new D4v2 with all the options. I opted for the 519A 4500k domed. I love this light. Still getting used to Anduril.

Exact one I got a few months ago. Those 519A 4500K LEDs are pleasing to the eye.

I was thinking about that but I also just got a Malkoff SHO, which is my thrower big-gun. Any other suggestions for my next Hank?

The SHO, that's not a thrower is it? It's just the higher output m61. But it is still using a tiny reflector. The Dm11 really cannot be compared to it. Especially since it has that big optic. Such a different beam pattern, and in my opinion, so much more useful, than a reflector.

But if the DM11 still doesn't suit your fancy, a D4SV2 with w2 leds is a monster.

You are totally right. I made a mistake. I have the HOT, the High Output Thrower. My bad.

Oh, OK. That changes everything I just said. Lol that's a really good head. I would still recommend a DM11. But that's just because it's such a gorgeous light. And you can choose the LED you want. I went with XHP 50.3 HI 4000 K. But for something to absolutely blow your doors off, the D4SV2 is it. But only with the W-2. That will be around 6000 lumens. But the big difference is, is the size. Namely, the size of the optic. It's much throwier than the D4 optic. And the light has more mass. So it can stay brighter for longer. Personally, I don't actually like the standard D4 very much, just too much light wasted to flood for my tastes.

D4SV2 it is!!!! Thanks so much for the background and the suggestion. I may still pick up a DM11 too based on your reco. Maybe it will be a double NLD!!!

I like small lights for indoor distances at outputs <200 lumens
Im a fan of the Emisar D2, it is two lights in one:

also available w a UV LED option.

and I plan to buy an Emisar D3AA next,

with the new 3750K FFL351a LED (which may supersede my fascination w DD 519a)

So many choices. Gotta love this! Thank you!

What is this FFL351a you speak of? I know how much you like DD 519a so this is saying something

It seems it's into available from firelytes. And it's a pretty large die so should be floody. I can see why you like it. Not sure how I feel about only one company having an emitter though

Reportedly has very high CRI R9, more pink tint, and higher output than 519a. I have ordered some to test with reflector and w 30 degree pebbled Tir, in a Sofirn SC21 Pro.

I like the approx 3500K CCT similar to DD 4500K 519a, the negative DUV similar to sw45k, and the exceptionally high R9. It has the unusual characteristic of becoming less pink as output increases (opposite direction of sw45k)

Im waiting to see it in a personal swap into an SC21 Pro, before I decide whether to buy it in a D3AA (available with 3 different Carclo optics).

Im hoping to confirm that the D3AA dual fuel Boost Driver (a first for an Anduril light), has a lower Flicker Index than my TS10.

So, new LED, and new driver architecture also. High efficiecy, NoPWM, and Regulated output. The D3AA has firefly lows, lower than my Emisar D2 moonlight.
