we used to use MC and AUTO batteries for running a video light and running equiptment in the feild.
we made Fiberglass containment for the battery so acid spills and all would not be a problem. it was a total disaster after TIME, and constant maintance. then replaced them with SLA (gell cell lead acid) again another total waste of time and money.
the only thing i would do again, would be the deep cycle marine battery in the Battery CASE. we had the cases fitted with car cord receptacles. and even that would be for short term cheapness. acid Nasty, but you only realise it a few weeks after, your skin is falling off
if you want to blow away LEAD use a rack of Ni-Mhy LSD cells 10X, not only is it Lighter by far, it doesnt spill, split, fail, and generally be a miserable source of power when actually used, it will take many many more cycles, and even deep cycles, LA is good for 25 IF EVER.
3 Times the cost (approx) to get to ni-mhy of the same relative averaged value, 1/2 the weight and at Least 10 times as long of useability.
Lead, use it for exercize , thats its power :devil: everytime even with SLA cells, you will notice one thing, runtime goes to heck, and you didnt even run it for squat. so after a mere 3-5 uses even a 1/2 capacity ni-mhy pack will give you more actual Cycle energy.
