24W HID Mag mod?

is it possible to put a 24w bulb and ballast in a 2/3/4+ d cell mag? i know Mac does mini 10W ones but i have not seen a 24W?

I think the trick here would be finding a bare round ballast. Welch Allyn makes a round 10W ballast and it's a perfect fit for the Maglite.

Welch Allyn also makes a 25W ballast but it's rectangular and won't fit inside a Maglite tube. I've seen round ballasts up to 35W but the companies that produce them state they're only available in OEM quantities.

that was 2005!!!, things must of moved on since then? that was when 60lm was a good output! there must be better on the market by now?

hi fillipo, thanks for the link:thumbsup:, all i ment was, is it not something anyone has looked at since then as things must of moved on the the HID world?
