in the case they both would work, which would be better?
i don't understand the differences really, they both say about 3.8v is max but 3aa's is 4.5v isn't it?

Both will work but the Edixeon is easier to mount since the dimensions are the same like the stock Luxeon-ermitter.
Don't be worried about the voltage, because the driver controls the current/voltage.
