What is the difference in tint between the XP-G warm white with either 7A3 or 7B4 / Q5 flux they are using now and the warm ones used in their initial launch of their products last year?

4-7s hasn't used a warm-white emitter yet.
They have previously use a neutral-white (xp-e 5A Q3) in Quarks

There's a few decent posts with comparison pictures. Not that a camera really shows what your eyes will see. It's worth getting one.

The projected Cree XP-G bin for the Warms are 7A3 or 7B4
looking on the Binning sheet for the Cree XP series -

these are in the color temperature of about 3100K (in green outline)-
most people (including me) probably won't tell any difference between the two bins -
especially in any typical flashlight usage.

At about 3100K this is close to imitating a good incandescent halogen xenon light (max possible color temp = 3200K before it burns out).
(Note: the Neutral white used previously were about 4100K in blue-gray circle)

It's probably personal preference but I think the warms are better in the woods. I can see a lot more detail in the "green" range and get an improved sense of depth.

To compare the 5x neutral tints available on the earlier runs of Quarks and MiNi's to the cool tinted versions, they look quite warm, but will actually appear on the cool side when put side by side with a 7x tint emitter. I can't wait for mine to get here as I already have a 7x in one of my Draco's!
