Re: Adjustable Focus Fenix!!!

It looks like it's single stage which is fine with me. But of course it's only a guess. Looks good though. I would like to see a single AA version also.

Good find, Marduke
Did you also notice the new TK11 which takes a 18650 Lithium ?
(top few pictures on your first link)

Re: Adjustable Focus Fenix!!!

love the look of the E20 but would have preferred at least a Q5 bin emitter. Doesn't say how many modes neither...hmmm. And, tail-stand please!!!

Re: Adjustable Focus Fenix!!!

I did notice it has absolute flat regulation on alkalines.

Looks like another "entry level" single level light targeted at consumers who can't bring themselves to shell out $50 for a "premium" Fenix.

I'm going to guess <$30 price tag.

Re: Adjustable Focus Fenix!!!

Proper knurling on the body for grip as well. Wonder why they didn't use a Q5 LED.

In that case, i also want an highly driven, 18650, R2, focusable "big head" :D

Re: Adjustable Focus Fenix!!!

Tint and flux bins are not related.

Of course they are.
Warmer tint is less lumen @ 350mA.
So they get lower bin by default.

Its just the question whether this light uses a warm one...

Thanks,

IIRC, I remember seeing a thread a week or so ago that was comparing a Dereelight Q5 to a Dereelight "Warm White" Q2. I guess I just assumed the Q2's were just naturally warmer

They can only make true "warm tints" in lower bins because they require a thicker layer of phosphor, which absorbs more light. There is also the warmer "cool white" tints.

But in reality, tints and bins are not related. LED's are graded on both AFTER they come off the line.

A full list of both can be found here:

Re: Adjustable Focus Fenix!!!

Why is it using a Q2 instead of a Q5?
+1 to that, and another complaint with this light is when you adjust the light for "flood" the beam gets NARROWER! It is not very wide looking to begin with when focused for throw, and to be narrower for flood makes the "adjustable beam" feature of rather limited usefulness. Rather have a higher bin with a non-adjustable beam.

TK11 on 18650 sounds really nice.

it seems like the beamshots were taken at differnt exposures. I suspect that they really mean to say a "diffused" light as opposed to a flood light.

depending on the price, the E20 sounds like the perfect loner light, its simple to use, has the familier mag focusing feature, forward clicky, and its bright. Okay 109 lumens (why 109?! why 9?) isnt THAT bright, but its bright to the unenlightened, and more then you need anyway.
