Anyone know when the aluminum version of the surefire titan is going to be available? I'm going to the gun and knife show tomorrow in Charlotte and thought I might get lucky!!! When they do become available, does anyone have a ballpark figure on the price? Thanks.

Some dealers are guesstimating end of this year...maybe even 2009. No idea on pricing yet.

There's not even a picture of it, the ones on the SF 2008 catalog are of the current version. It is likely we are not going to see it this year... :shakehead

Why so long:shakehead. The design is already there.........
The concept is here - proof of concept is here too as SureFire released 1000 Titanium versions of the concept.
Production has been quite problematic as evidenced by threads here on CPF. SureFire are still refining how to mass-produce the Titan.
I suspect that this is taking longer then they planned for.

I hope it's cheaper than the titanium titan.

TITAN® T1A
An aluminum version of last year's limited-edition
Titan. Nearly identical to the Titan in that it delivers
over 1,000 seamless output levels between zero and
70 lumens, but it's powered by a single SureFire
123A lithium battery, and it's more affordable than
the original all-titanium Titan.

This is the description on SF 2008 catalog. And 'more affordable' means......

Will they put a more powerfull LED in ?
70 lumens seems a little weak :candle:

have you noticed how much heat these LEDs put out? High-current+small light=shorter LED life.

let's be honest, most of us will run the lights in the highest mode at least part of the time, whether we "need" it or not.

Then again 70 lumens here is more like 120 inflated lumens that are common on CPF.
