Hello all,
I have an AmondoTech N30 and the battery is not working at all. I used the light about 4 times and the battery is dead. I charge it for days and the light lasts for about 30 seconds and then the light flickers. When the battery has sat for a week or so the light flickers right away. I dont want to get another faulty NiMH battery and was wondering if anyone has ad any luck retrofitting their N30 with a Lithium Ion battery. My POB HID that uses a Lead Acid battery is perfect and I have used it 100 times as much as my N30. I already had to send it back once because the LEDs in the handle quit. Now 4 of them have quit again. Right now I am not too impressed with the N30. Thanks for any help that you can offer.

Because you called it an Amondotech I'm assuming you purchased your light a while back (when the company name was still Amondotech). If you only used the light 4 times since then, I'm pretty sure the NiMH battery is toast. It simply won't hold a charge if you don't use it very often.

If this isn't the case and your experiences are more recent, I would send it back to MattK. I'm sure he'll make it right.

The L35 operates on 3 x li-po / 3 x li-ion cells or 12.6V max, so I suspect the same would work to retro-fit your N30.

Thanks guys, I think it was about 1.5 years ago. Actually problems started happening pretty quick. I understand the way that batteries go bad and need to be exercised. I guess the batteries are a little more fragile tough. I have batteries in a lot of stuff that dont get used and they still work just fine. I guess I just thought for the price it would last a little longer. I guess I just have to buy another battery and discharge and charge every other month or so. What a pain. I might just use my two POB that have not been touched in over a year and they still come on right away.
