I recently sent some 6082 parts to a commercial anodisers for HA nat' satin finish, and some for HA satin black.
The HA black satin finish usually comes back as a nice lustrous black, but this battery tube has come back mat and streaky. All the
nat' satin parts were fine, but a couple of other black parts were more matt than satin too.
The anodisers think the streaks are 'draw marks', but they were all turned down to 1.00" from the same 1.125" diameter
solid rod. There is no evidence of streaking on the non dyed pieces.
Any insight to help me avoid this in future would be greatly appreciated.
