this is my second peak pacific that flickers. Its not bad, but its there. This one is the new seoul led. I had them up the power on this one and its supposed to be 30 to 50 percent brighter than the luxeon version, but it is definately not. Im kinda dissapointed.

So when I send this one back to be fixed. Will they beable to up the power to 5oo candle power?. And if so what will the runtime be??.

Thanks in advance...

Make sure to clean all the contacts real well. If that doesn't fix it, then call'em up.

I have two Pacifics in brass, a CR2 pocket body and a AA pocket body get the most use.

I have not had any trouble with them. The CR2 is an ultra power luxeon, and it puts out 400 cp. I have had the same CR2 battery in it for many moons - since I got it. I checked the power level last week and it was at 60% and I decided to swap it out for a new battery. I got the light back in Jan. I have used the Pacific while setting up a new bandsaw, changing filters for the furnace, occasionally when walking the dog.
I don't turn the light on and just sit there and time it. I am fine with the runtime and light output....I like the ultra in CR2 much more than the AA, but it is just a matter of taste and what you want the light to do for you.
The brass makes for a smooth turning action.

bigmikey, I have a Pacific with a Luxeon and got the new one with a Seoul. I selected the same drive level and don't see any increase in brightness either. It doesn't flicker though.

the first thing I tried was to clean the contacts. Im really upset about the brightness though. They said it would be 30 to 50 percent brighter than my luxeon pacific but its not.

A 30% increase in spot intensity is barely perceptible to the human eye. Try a bounce test. Go into a dark room and aim both lights at the ceiling but look at some magazines on the floor. Hold your thumb over each lens sequentiality. Most of the increase is in the spill and the P4 usually has a wider spot as well. The bounce test allows easier comparison of overall light.

I will give that a try. Thanks..

Most of the time, my Peak lights work perfectly. When they flicker or dim, a quick clean of the battery contacts and threads (with re-lube) works well. BTW, I'm very satisfied with my SSC P4 low power brass Pacific!
