Store them along with your light and you could be surprised.

Heard about stuff like that they put in engines to see if a engine has overheated. Had a little liquid crystal temp strip when I was a kid.

No, never tried that. But in direct sun I could easily assume at least 90F. In my pocket, probably 85F at most. That's big stretch too. But I'm not about to throw out that it might even get hotter in there, we had a week long stretch of 95F temps here some time ago.
