specifically C and D cell, but AA too..... Looking to get some 10-12,000mah to replace my old 5,500mah ni-cd's which are about 6 years old and getting tired.

Nothing on ebay/google that I can make sense of, other than low power stuff.

Any uk recomendations?

Greg.

I've used these guys a lot for AAA/AA cells, prices are very good:

C & D's seem to be a little harder to come by though. I found these which might be of interest though?

Fantastic! They will do the job just grand. 10,000mah D's.... mmmm. I have seen 12,000mah but if on the shelf 3 months then I reach for it they have become 4,800mah with the discharge, which is why overall unless it's RC or something charged every day I think these will be better.

Thanks!

just wondering if you have tried the Vapex "Instant" NiMH AA/AAA cells?

I have. If I'm being honest, I found that there was more variation between cells than with the Eneloops and they didn't retain their capacity in my bike lights (which had sat for 8 months - basically, they were close to empty).

Still, for the money, they're ok. I'd say they retain their charge better than non LSD cells based on my experience. Just not a patch on the eneloops.

I have also heard before that the Vapex instant batteries had a higher self discharge rate than eneloops.

I just ordered some Uniross Hybrios today and will compare them to my eneloops when they arrive.

The Hybrios are pretty much rebadged eneloops from what I can tell. Provided that they have a white top with 4 small vent holes around the +ve terminal.

I picked up two packets of 4 AAs in ASDA about 9 months ago on clearance for under £3/packet. An absolute steal! Not seen them since in the supermarkets though...

That might not always be the case unfortunately. Some reports suggest they come from a different source in Europe compared to the US.

When they do arrive it would be interesting to know if they are similar in appearance to Eneloops or otherwise.
