So I recently bought a L1D Premium Q5. Occasionally, I would like to get the brighter output (180 lumens) of a L2D Premium Q5. If I buy the L2D body/tailcap can I accomplish this simply by putting the L1D head on it?

Yes. Simply purchase a L2D body and put your L1D head on it.

All you need is the L2D body.

The L2D, L1D, and P2D have the same circuitry. The P3D does NOT.

So I will get the turbo output of 180 lumens, even though the head is only a L1D?

The reason I am questioning this is that the circuit is in the head. Isn't it only programmed to reach 120 lumens?

The head is the same, the limitation was the power source.

1AA can't power the turbo like the 2AA can.

PS I love my L2D.

If you are considering a spare body, another option may be to buy a regular L2D with the free E01, that way you get a free E01, and have a spare L2D CE head as well...

True what LED-holic said.
In addition, The head can accept 0.8v-3.7 volt, so you can interchange the head with l2d and p2d as long as the maximal input voltage not exceeding 3.7v.

If you haven't already, you should also buy the L1T. L2D body will turn it into L2T whenever you please.

Doh! :ohgeez:

I can't find an L2D body in Olive anywhere. It seems everyone is selling them in Black only. I guess it was a mistake to buy an Olive L1D.

Thanks Yapo. I guess I was looking for one without the tailcap, like at lighthound. That tailcap is expensive.
